Back to the century , I was born in Tokyo , city of fashion . Well , my name is Takuma . I am a third grade student in Shido High School . Take a peek into my name , I am a boy . Ah, I forgot something . I’ve twin brother , his name is Tenma . We being such a great duo since this though day . Yes , theres something hidden beyond my own says . The story begins in the last winter .

‘ Tetsuru Takuma , Tetsuru Tenma , hurry up ! You guys didn’t want to have a late exam today . Its your final exam right ? You guys need to work up on it . Hurry ! Dad’s waiting for you guys . ‘ Ah , that’s my mum , her name is Tetsuru Shouju . So , we step out from our room hurricanely and grabbed a piece of sandwich and our drinking bottle . Wear our shoes and rushed to Dad car . ‘ Ah , you guys ! Faster , I’ve meeting today . You better strive a great grades for the exams ok ? Or else , I’ll cancel your trip to Yokohama . ‘ That’s my dad , his name is Tetsuru Matsuda . ‘ Oh , Dad . Please please please , I’m begging you Dad , we really want to have a long relax , Dad ! Please allow us ‘ Tenma started to ‘cried’ . I just smile , and based on Dad face , I know , he had already allowed us . Thanks Dad ! Aishiteru .

Exam had finally close its shelf . The day has come , freedom , here I come ! As soon as I walk out from the examination hall , Tenma approached me . ‘ Takuma , the question is no hard at all . Home . Tenma rushed for the room , put his bag on the shelf and give himself a big bang . He puts his body under the thick blanket and started to switch on the heater on his room . As for me , giving a hand for Mum on kitchen . Mum decides to cook our favourite dish today , teppan . Yes , it’s a beef-bread-cream thingy . I love it . Tenma adore it . After finish cooking and preparing the dish , Dad got home . I moved Tenma up . He’s up , and down again . ‘ Tenma , are you gonna sleep for the whole day and let your beautiful and gorgeous teppan cold ? ‘ I asked precisely . ‘ No ! I’m pecker . Wait wait , did you just mention teppan ? Teppan ? ‘ curiously , he asked . I nodded hardly and laugh . He stared at me and started to run down through the stairs . He was chasing his teppan . For him , no one can’t beat our mum best teppan .

Lunch had finish , it was a great day . Dad got back to work as usual and Mum started to wash the dishes . As for me , I grabbed my PSP and started to played the game ‘ Tekken 6 ‘ . Its somekind of nice game to play , and it massage my fingers a lot . As for Tenma , he? He continues his sleep as usual . Well , he’s ‘hibernating’ . He’s the polar bear of the Tetsuru family . While playing the PSP , my phone ‘scream’ . It’s a call , from Akime , our classmate . ‘ Moshi moshi , Takuma . ‘ Akime greet . ‘ Moshi moshi . What’s up . ‘ I replied . Then , with laugh , Akime replied , ‘ What’s up ? Oh , its ceiling . Am I right ? Haha . Stupid Takuma . ‘ I just laugh like hell and started to have a conversation with him . He’s a guy dude ! No negative thingy here . I’m straight . I love to have a chat with Akime , he’s a great person , great joker and great friend too . He always there for us . Our best best buddy . One thing I love about him , he always be as strong as he could although he didn’t have anybody in this world . He’s an orphanage , no family , no siblings , pity . Enough of him .

The next day , Tenma and I was planning to have a walk on that day . We want to feel the day without school . Ah , about the Yokohama thingy , its under planning , thought . Due to Dad outstation work to Beijing , we’ve to delayed it first . If we going to Yokohama , how about Mum ? Hey , I’m a good son ok ? Believe in me . While I was walking along the streets with Tenma , suddenly he passed out . I thought he was kidding but he really passed out . I take the taxi and brought him to the hospital .

Waiting is the most thing I hate . I can’t bare it , I can’t take it anymore . 15 minutes passed by , the doctor came out . ‘ Did your brother tell you anything about his illness ? ‘ the doctor asked seriously . ‘ No , he didn’t . What is it doctor ? ‘ . The doctor just shooked his head left and right . I bet , there was something uneasy about it . I forced the doctor to tell whats going on . He passed me a envelope , the medical report of Tetsuru Tenma . I opened it rushingly and started to read it up .

My great brother Tenma , is suffering from heart diseases . He need a donor . My eyes started to drop the tears . I don’t even realize , my own brother , is suffering from this such chronic diseases . I can feel , his strength , fighting this illness . Tenma , be patient . I’ll find the donor for you . I don’t want to lose you . Dad and Mum knew about this as soon as I reached house , without Tenma . They cried as loud as they could . They can’t even think , how come Tenma can suffer such diseases ?

The exam result had been release . I’d grabbed the envelope and rushed to the hospital . Tenma was smiling when he saw my face . ‘ Takuma , today the result is out . Do you have it with you now ? ‘ his face , were pale-white . I smile , and passed his result to him . He opened it , read it carefully and smile until his tears were seen . ‘ Takuma , I’ve passed the exam with all A’s . Takuma , thanks ! Takuma , you the best brother . How about you ? ‘ he asked . I replied it happily , ‘ Ah ? Same with you . We’ve got the heat , Tenma . ‘ my teardrops started to falling . He grabbed my hand and sweep my tears away with his bare hands . He nodded and say ‘ Takuma , I don’t want you to cry now . I want you to cry , when my body had been burned . Promise me , Takuma . You will continue your life as usual without me . And just one thing I want you to promise , this kind a big request , Takuma . I don’t want you to give your heart to me , because I’m not a selfish person who really needs a donor for surviving in his own life . ‘

Tenma makes me realize , how strong we need to be if we want to survive in this cruel world . I’ve promised Tenma , not to cry . But , can I hold my promise for not to give my heart away for Tenma ? I just don’t get it . Why didn’t me who bare the disease ? Why must Tenma ? Tenma , be strong . Our classmates come to pay a visit for Tenma . They also didn’t believe their own eyes , when the time they see Tenma were lying on the bed , wearing the tube on his nose , wire here , wire there . Day by day , passed through lots of weeks . Its currently a hard time for Tenma , my brother . Just about one day , the empty bed besides Tenma had been fill with a girl , who have the same age with us . That girl is named by Minari Shiori . We called her , Shiori-chan . Tenma really enjoy the new hospitalmate . Tenma really have a great smile there . ‘ Shiori-chan , you have been stayed here for two weeks , but I didn’t know what are your illness is . Can you tell me ? ‘ Tenma asked utterly . Shiori nodded and say , ‘ Ah , yes . I’ve a brain cancer . ‘ Tenma doesn’t blink his eyes when he heard about Shiori illness . With a sympathy feelings , Tenma reply ‘ Ah . Really ? No wonder I always saw you struggling headache . No wonder . Well , Shiori-chan , don’t worry , we’d same . But , I’ve a heart problem , I’m waiting for a donor . ‘ ‘ You lucky . You only need a donor to live , but me . I’m just counting out my days . I’m waiting for the time , when the time has come . That night , Shiori called upon Tenma , telling that his head really hurts . Tenma run to the counter to called for the doctor . The doctor came to give Shiori a check . The doctor called Shiori’s parent . Tenma saw Shiori mother were crying when the doctor tell her something . But , Tenma don’t know what is it . Tenma really hoping nothing serious would happen to Shiori . This is the first time , Tenma really cares about girl . I think , Tenma had fallen in love with Shiori , the cancer girl . The next day , Shiori conscious as usual . ‘ Shiori-chan , what did the doctor said last night ? ‘ Tenma asked curiously . Shiori stand up and sit besides Tenma on her bed . ‘ Ah , the doctor said , I need to be operated if I want to continue survive in this world . ‘ ‘ Good , then accept the suggestion . Beep beep , beep beep . My phone rangs , it was from Tenma . Tenma asked me to come to the hospital with Mum and Dad . Meet him at the park ? Why ? Well , just follow my little brother quest . I arrived there with Mum and Dad , we heading to the park and saw Tenma were sitting under the tree near the lake . We approached Tenma . Tenma gives us a pale smile , but sincere . ‘ Mum , Dad , Takuma . I need your help . Shiori-chan need an operation , but her mum can’t afford the cost . Please help her . Please . ‘ Tenma was begging us . Dad reply , ‘ But why , Tenma ? Why you want us to afford her operation cost ? We can help if you tell us the reason . ‘ ‘ Its because , its because . I love her . The doctor nodded and reply ‘ Yes , thanks to you . You’ve saved Shiori’s life . Her mother will be so happy . Ah , and one thing . Tenma started to cry , he put his head on my shoulder . I smile and said ‘ You’ve got a girlfriend huh ? Why didn’t you tell me ? Don’t cry brother . She saved now . ‘ ‘ No , I didn’t cry for that , I’m just remembering my life time . I’ve a short period . ‘ Tenma continues to cry . Ah , I know . Tenma is worried that he won’t be able to live with Shiori . You just wait , Tenma . Miracle will happen .

‘ Tetsuru Tenma , congratulations ! We’ve found the donor . He’d fits your blood . The operation will be held on two days time . ‘ The doctor said to Tenma . It was a great news , Tenma gives me a hug , gives Mum and Dad a kiss . He also gives Shiori-chan a happy hug . I just smile and say ‘ Congratulations Tenma . Do live your live well after the operation . I love you , brother . Enjoy your life . Shiori-chan , take care of my brother ok ? I love both of you . ‘ They looked at me , and give a me confused face expressions . I turn back as them called my name , I just walked away . I didn’t realize , how big my own sacrifice . But , I know . Its for my own brother goodness . I want him to be happy .

The day had come , the judgement day , between life and death . Tenma were happy that he will survive , but he also feel anxious , due to my absent on his operation day . I weren’t there , on his day . I wasn’t there , to support him . Tenma lied on the stretcher and his was pushed to the operation theatre . Then , Tenma saw a guy , who lying on the next stretcher . He was Tenma’s heart donor . Tenma can’t even looked at that guy face , because his chest had been cut . 4 hours and 25 minutes pass , the operation finally done . Tenma had been ‘arrest’ in the ICU ward .

3 days passed , Tenma conscious himself again . He woke up , and he feel the heat of life . As he awake , the only person he saw is Mum , Dad , Shiori-chan and her mother . With anxious and afraid , Tenma asked , ‘ Where’s Takuma ? Where is he ? Why didn’t he come today ? Is he fine today ? Where is he ? ‘ . Shiori grabbed Tenma hands and asked Tenma to sit on the wheelchair . Shiori brought Tenma to one room where the dead body was kept . As the nurse saw Shiori and Tenma , she nodded and open a dead body chamber and pulled it out . ‘ Who is he ? May I see ? ‘ Tenma asked . Shiori nodded . Tenma stand up and saw the name on the chamber , Tetsuru Takuma . He pulled the cloth down and he saw Takuma were lying there . ‘ Takuma ? Takuma ! Takuma ! Brother , why ? Why ? ‘ Tenma scream . He pulled the cloth once again to take a peek at Takuma’s chest . There was a laser thingy , that put the two skin together back . ‘ Takuma ! I’ve told you ! Why did you give me your heart , Takuma ???!! Why did you break your own promise Takuma ??!! You’d been promise to me that you won’t give your heart to me . Why didn’t you hold up your promise , Takuma ??!! I didn’t want it . I want you back Takuma ! Takuma ! You hear me or not ?! Takuma !! Takuma ! Please Takuma ! Don’t kid me out ! Takuma ! Wake up , Takuma ! ‘ Tenma started to cry .

3 years had passed . I had been live my joy of life in heaven . I always look Tenma from the top . Tenma looked happy on his life . Where the was a rain , Tenma would say to Mum , Dad and Shiori , ‘ Guys , look . Takuma is crying . He is falling his tears down . My brother , Tetsuru Takuma , don’t cry , I wouldn’t make your heart suffer . I’ll make sure it happy in my body . ‘ Tenma smile and started to play with the rain .
